emika - double edge

one of my favourite songs off her recently released self-titled LP (on ninjatune), which is quite stunning all the way through. i find myself getting frustrated with and bored of all these LPs coming out lately where good producers try to work with vocalists (are they trying to give it wider appeal? more radio friendly? blatant moneygrabbing technique? or genuinely interested in involving a vocalist? idgi. sbtrkt and l-vis 1990 are what of i think of first, really wasn’t into either of their albums). emika does everything herself so it turns out ideally - her own voice complements her own music so well, and vice versa. she also apparently works for native instruments in berlin (objekt does too!) jealous.
